In recent years, as the computer hardware and software develop quickly, the technology of numerical simulation has played a more and more important role in the producing process. But because of some characteristics of the welding process, there are still many difficulties in numerical simulation of the large-scale actual structure. In this paper, according to the practical scientific research subject, many contributions have been made to the practical application of the technology of numerical simulation.In the body of this paper, the innovations which we have made in the year Because of these innovations, the process of the welding numerical simulation better corresponds to the reality. by using the optimized algorithm and the original algorithm numerical calculations were conducted of the plate welding model , the parameters used in the calculation are exactly the same as these of the practical experiment. Compared the final calculating results with the test results, the result used the optimized algorithm well agrees with the experiment result in both the stress distribution and the deformation.According to the new algorithm, coupling calculation of thermal structures was conducted of the "T"-beam, which is a part of the box-shaped base of the 5000t crane. By simulating the welding process of the top flange plate, it has been found that the deformation is larger when the two welding seams were welded at the same time.When the top flange plate and the web were welded together, the welding joint is T Shape. In order to make a comparative study of the effects of the different welding methods and welding sequences on the deformation, the deformation of the T-joint resulted by two different welding sequences were simulated numerically.By contrasting the deformation in different path and the overall deformation, it can be found that the deformation is larger when the two welding seams were welded at the same time no matter which kind of methods is used. From the simulated deformation in the same welding sequence, it can be found that the simulated deformation according to penetration of the submerged arc welding is larger than the deformation according to penetration of CO2 gas-shielded welding, when the two welding seams were welded at the same time, when the two welding seams were welded one by one, we have known that the simulated deformation according to penetration of CO2 gas-shielded welding is larger than the deformation according to penetration of the submerged arc welding.
