16MnR steel is a most widely used material of pressure vessels. There have been many reseaches on the 16MnR welded joint, but they are not enough because of the complication of fatigue and the inhomogeneity of weldment. The cycle mechanical property and fatigue behaviour of the 16MnR welded joint were not researched completed. In this paper the fatigue test and mechanical property test were carried out for 16MnR welded joint, and the results of fatiuge tests were presented by means of FEM. The result of the researches provided fatigue property parameters and fatigue experiment data for the welded joint of 16MnR steel.The most important results of research works can be summarized into the following points:(1) The welded joint and the weld metal have the property of cyclic hardening and non-masing.(2) The fatigue endurance limit of the fusion zone is lowest, and the fatigue endurance limit of the weld line was highest.(3) The based material and the weld metal reveal higher ratcheting rate under higher loading condition then that under lower loading condition, and the ratcheting of the based material and the weld metal was sensitive to the history of loading.(4) The fatigue crack growth of the weld metal reveal stress ratio effects, and the fatigue crack growth of the based material was influenced by rolling direction.(5) J-S cyclic plasticity model can describe cyclic stress-strain marvelously, but it was not good enough at describing the non-masing of weld metal. Jiang multi-axial fatigue damage criterion can predict the fatigue crack growth rate marvelously.
