The glass fiber reinforced plastic compound material (GFRP) by its outstanding resists corrosion the performance gradually is received by our country and the world scientist's value in the sea domain application,but to the high polymer material corrosion question research is inferior to the metal material corrosion question studies that thorough and widespread,and lack of corrode data the GFRP in the field of marine applications. Therefore, the research of evolution rule of properties and life prediction of GFRP under seawater environment is become one of very important issues.Through summing up and sorting the research development of GFRP in the marine environment,the corrode basic theories about the GFRP in the seawater environment and basic approaches of data processing are collected. Simulating seawater environment, we focus on the research of moisture absorption of matrix and GFRP. The aged specimens'mechanical properties including tensile strength, flexural strength, impact strength and Barcol hardness are tested for recognizing the law and corruption mechanisms. The surface morphology and micro morphology are observed by SEM. Considering the effects humidity and temperature, the constitutive equations are created with the theory of elastic mechanics.Test results show that the corrosion of polymer and composites materials is a relaxation process. Moisture infiltration of matrix followed Fick No2 law, and with the increasing of the salinity, the D is decreased. Moisture absorption in lowsalinity is followed the one dimension diffusion, and accorded with the inverse Jardon function in high salinity. Moisture infiltration of GFRP followed"two stage diffusion",and the D of first stage is greater than the D of second stage. Moisture absorption in first stage is followed the Jardon function, and accorded with the onedimension diffusion in second stage. The mechanics of the material properties is very significant damage,the strength time curve are similar which it deceased fast at the incipient stage and gently gradually as time goes on. The SEM results show that the surface polymer is damages and fallen down, and the interface between fiber and matrix is break. Moreover, the fiber and matrix become more brittle. Thanks to the software origin, the data curves are fitted, and the exponential function of flexural strength is the most available one. Thereby, the flexural strength is a more reasonable parameter for characterize the properties. On the basis of radiation cross linking statistical theory, the theoretical model of radiationweight is derived, however, the reliability of this model need more experiments to validate. Under the hydrothermal environment, as the result of the mismatch between fiber and matrix which lead to the stress concentration, the shear properties are affected by that most serious.
