In this paper, it was focused on the reinforced polypropylene combined with calcium sulphate (CaSO4) whisker. By using different interface modifiers, the interface adhesion and mechanical properties of composite were improved. By. means of Infrared spectra, it was showed that the surface of CaSO4 whisker had the hydroxy which was similar to the glass fiber. Two kinds of maleated polypropylene and one kind of aluminate coupling agent, therefore, were selected as the interface modifier. The result showed that each properties of PP composite combined with interface modifier were better than that of without modifiers, meanwhile, there was a optimal dosage range for MPP1 or MPP2 respectively. Compared with others, MPP1 as the interface modifier could excellently enhance the properties of composite. When the ratio of PP/MPP1/CaSO4 whisker at 97/3/30 level, the comprehensive properties of PP composite were optimal. The test results of different composites were proved by Scanning Electronic Microscope (SEM) photos and Differential Scanning Caiormetry (DSC) analysis. The effect of rheology and crystallinity of PP composite were evaluated via changing different interface modifiers. It was showed that the matching result between the mechanical properties and micro structure. Regarding the optimal formulation of PP/MPP1/CaSO4(97/3/30), blending with adequate dosage of EPDM or TPE(thermoplastic elastomer) respectively, the properties of composite could balance the strength and toughness.
