Mild gasification of lignite is a Clean Coal Technology(CCT).By means of this method, we gain coal gases and tar only by hot-working and atmospheric pressure, instead of using Oxygen and Hydrogen. Based on a broad overview of mild gasification, the author gives a comprehensive and systematic account of its development, advantages and disadvantages, elementary research, applications and mechanism. On this basis the author has come up with an important opinion that if applying mild gasification to exploiting lignite resources of Yunnan Province, we can use brown coal effectively, protect environment and improve economic benefits. This thesis focuses on the experimental study of mild gasification of Zhaotong lignite and mathematical model on predicting tar yield. When finishing mild gasification experiment in a fixed furnace made by ourselves ,we achieve the following conclusions: the effects of reaction temperatures, heating rate, particle size, residence time and catalyst on mild gasification, of Zhaotong lignite are studied. The study results indicate that high temperature ,long residence time, little coal particle, fast heating rate and just the right amount of CaO can raise the yield of volatile product. On the other hand, the author adopts liner regression method, and address a new best-fit correlation of coal type with maximum tar yield:Taryield(wt%,dmaf)=59.9220-0.5202[Or+Sr]-0.5467[Cr]...
