TIG welding is a high-quality welding method. It is applied widely for its stable welding process, easy control and high quality. TIG welding power supply is developed quickly with the extending of TIG welding. Control part is decisive for the inverter performance in arc welding power supply. Integrated amplifier is the center of the control system for most of arc welding power supply at present, which is hard to meet the higher and complicated requirement of control only by the analog current. While using the inverter with the microcomputer control is not only meet the basic demand of the common arc welding power supply, but also is of high precision and multi-function. So the inverter with microcomputer has been the trend of development for arc welding power supplies. Consequently, a TM inverter with single chip microcomputer is developed in this paper. It includes the full bridge inverter system based on IGBT and the single chip microcomputer system centered on 80C196KC. Through flexible software, different given signal of welding current was outputted by the single chip microcomputer system, which can control the welding current. On the other hand, using the single chip microcomputer, sequence control and two/four step control method of the inverter can be realized according to the demand of the welding process. For the inverter this paper designed, friendly interface is provided, which make the parameter of the four welding method can be set and adjusted conveniently. Because of hard working circumstances and high frequency during arc ignition, the single chip microcomputer system worked abnormally. In result, anti-interference problem is the key of this paper. Series of effective measures are taken to improve the anti-interference ability of the system. The results of the experiment show that the TIG inverter with the single chip microcomputer this paper designed is of simple operation, flexible using and strong anti-interference ability. The DC TIG welding, pulse TIG welding, manual pulse TIG welding, spot welding can be realized only by the same circuit. And the inverter can work normally during arc ignition and welding process.
