A new combined process, Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Bed (UASB) and Anaerobic Filter (AF) used to treat domestic wastewater was studied The anaerobic flocculent sludge was enriched with mythle alcohol, ethanol and sodium acetate as carbon sources respectively Then high degradation activity enriched cultures was selected as anaerobic sludge in UASB Its treating condition was determined by orthogonal experiment In the same time, the mixed strains of Photosynthetic Bacteria (PSB) were enriched, then entrapped it with Polyvingl Alcohol (PVA) and made of immobilized cells Research work was done on the choice of imbedded cells?operational condition At last the system was used to treat domestic wastewater continuously from UASB to AF The results indicated that the efficiency of the combined process were excellent with the enrichment using mythle alcohol as carbon sources, under the condition of 30t, pH7 5, the inoculation of 10% (v/v) in UASB and with PVA as carriers, the imbedded PSB of 10% (w/v), the compactness of 10% (w/v), 30 cc , pH7 0 in AF While its CODcr Volumetric loading reached 3 19kg/rn3 d, the average removal rates of CODcr, BOD5,NH~-N were more than 88%, 90%, 74% respectively The effluent concentration of pollutants met the first grade of discharge standard of wastewater (0B8978-88)...
