Recently, the mobile producers managed to lower their product costs to survive for the increasing severity market of the automobiles and farm cars. Gears are important parts used for transmission. It is very significant to improve their quality and lower their costs for the development of the trade of mobiles and farm cars. In allusion to the key technology of forming spur gears, a new technology for spur gear plastic forming梥pur gear extrusion technology by kinetic forminc die is presented in this paper. Taking Anyang抯 sub-shift gear as the study subject, the special upset-extrusion dies are designed. The test of forming spur gear is put up with the dies and the principle of forming spur gear is studied. In addition, using UBET combined with numerical method and optimization, the force parameters in forming have been calculated. It is approximate with the value that has been got in the test. The dimension of the die cavity is the key to guarantee gear qualified. This paper not only derived the revised formulas of parameters about die cavity on its hot working but also put forward a way to manufacture the die cavity桬DM several times wire-cutting, which guarantee the dimension precision and surface quality of the forming die cavity. Depend on studying the process of forming spur gears, a kind of reasonable roughcast has been obtained and the principle to design roughcast has been summed up when forming spur gears with this technology.
