This dissertation consisted of two chapters. One is review of the application of the Samarium and Ytterbium in organic synthesis in recent years. The other is focused on the application of organic reactions promoted by samarium diiodide, metal samarium I auxiliary system, organoytterbium and metal ytterbium in organic synthesis. In chapter two, it includes six aspects: I .The intermolecular reductive cross coupling of an azido group with a cyano group induced by Sm12 was studied. Amidines are prepared in good yields under neutral and mild conditions respectively. 2. The intermolecular reductive cross coupling of an azido group with a cyano group promoted by samarium in presence of a catalytic amount of iodine system was investigated. Aromatic amidines are synthesized in good yields. 3. AllyI selenides were synthesized via reactions of alIyl ytterbium bromide with diselenides. 4.Allyl sulfldes vere synthesized by reactions of allyl ytterbium bromide with disulfides.5.AIlyl alcohol compounds were synthesized through reactions ofallyl poerbium bromide with aldehydes and ketones.6. Ytterbium metal reacts with diselenides and disulfides in thePresence of a cataIytic amount of methyl iodide or haethylchiorosilaneto induced the reductive cleavage of Se-Se and S-S bond. The selenideand sulfide boons react with ailyl bromide to produce allylselenides andallylsuIfides. The remarkable advantages of the above mentioned reactiolis arendd, neutral, sbole OPeraiOll, good yields and atOIn econOmy. All theWounds wer characterised by m and 1H NMR etc.
