Great progress on both architecture-structural adhesive and correlative strengthening technology has been made in recent years, as is being played more and more attentions to. However, the architecture-structural adhesive used presently in China almost imports from Japan. The dissertation therefore centers on modifying epoxy resin, and aims at preparing high-performance structural adhesive.The paper consists of the following parts: (1) the preparation of novel curing agent. (2) the toughening of epoxy resin by nano-SiC>2 and PU. (3) the experiment of architecture-structural adhesive applied to reinforced concrete beams.The physical and curing properties of the novel curing agent are discussed in the first section. Their curing-reaction qualities are emphatically characterized by FTIR. All results indicate that the modified arnine prepared by us is a best kind of curing agent that can crosslink epoxy resin in ambient and even low temperature. Additionally, it is of appropriate viscosity, and it improves HP's toughness and adhesive strength.Based on the first section of the research, nano-SiOj and PU modify EP respectively by means of blending and graft-IPN. The effect of additive content and blending process on mechanical properties and heat stability of crosslinked EP is discussed. Results show that both of methods, blending and graft-IPN in which blending with nano-SiO2 is better, succeed in toughening EP. hi addiction, the modifying mechanism is studied by means of SEM.Finally, based on the novel curing agent, nano-SiC>2/EP, in which the proportion of nano-SiO2 is 3Wt%EP, is used as architecture-structural adhesive applied to reinforced concrete beams. Results show that the adhesive possesses enough adhesion to carbon fibber and concrete, and prove it is excellent architecture-structural adhesive.
