The soybean-protein fiber was developed by Li-Guanqi who is the member of the HuaKang group that is united with chemistry bioengineering in Pu Yang, HeNan province.The producer stuff of the soybean-protein fiber primarily contains beans dregs, hydroxyl and cyanic acid high polymer. Its production principle: First, soaking beans dregs into water and purifying out soybean-protein from the solution. Then, the protein was changed its molecular configuration, and took place graft copolymerization with hydroxyl and the cyanic acid high polymer under the suitable condition. Last, forms the soybean-protein fiber by way of wet spinning.In this paper, the technology was simply introduced. The performance of this fiber was studied. During the testing many kinds of advanced instrument were implied in study of the fiber's inner structure, the infrared absorption spectrum, x-ray diffraction curve, etc. In order to know the fiber's characteristics and chemical-physics performance, we could have completely understood by the system analysis. On the ground of all-around study, the fabric of the fiber was developed and its property was studied. And the performance of the fiber was evaluated by the way clustering.According to the development and study of the fiber and fabric, the conclusions are reached as following:1. The fiber possesses various fine properties, for example, soft andsmooth handle, good wet-conductance. The fabric has good heat retention, excellent water absorption and good handle.2. At present, the development of the fiber is still on the initial stage. The soybean-protein fiber has the drawbacks of the dyeing behavior and levelness. The wet-heat performance of the fabric is poor. There are some problems at the spinning process.3. On the basis of further improvement of the fiber's property, by means of the intertexture and blending with the other fiber, optimization of textile technology, serial textile with wider varieties and better function can be developed in the future.
