Effective solidification/stabilization of chromium residue is researched by using a binder of cement with ferrous sulfate and industrial wastes as additives. Before cement solidification, ferrous sulfate solution is mixed with chromium residue to reduce partly Cr (VI) into Cr3+ in alkaline medium , some of industrial wastes added can absorb Cr34 . The effect of using/non-using reductant, dosage and sort of reductant, filling-in manner of reductant on chromium waste is studied systemically. The results show that the leaching-out toxicity of chromium waste by using reductant are much less than that of non-using reductant series , that chromium waste added reaches fifty percent above . The filling-in manner of FeSO^HiO can greatly affect treatment effect. Cr (VI) toxicity of the leachate decrease below the national standard, compressive strengthes of the solidification body reach above SOMPa ,which can be used in landfill or comprehensive utilization. Other factors such as different granularity , leaching time , superficial leaching rate , acid rain eluviation and solarization which affect toxicity of the leachate are also discussed.Water glass and bitumen as solidification agents to treat with chromium waste are also researched.
