Study On Synthesis Of New Herbicide Glufosinate

Glufosinate is a new herbicide, developed by Hoechst AG (now Aventis CropScience). The herbicide can be used for control of annual and perennial broad-leaved weeds and grasses in fruit orchards, vineyards, rubber, and oil palm plantations, ornamental bushes, and non-crop land.This paper mainly discusses the synthesis of glufosinate and its intermediates, gives our first study of glufosinate in a laboratory and characterizes its structure by analysis.Our study gives the synthesis of alkyl methylvinylphsphinate through Michael reaction by using vinylmagnesium chloride instead of vinylmagnesium bromide, and gives a further study of its synthesized technology. Two importance intermediates, ethyl 2-(phenylmethylene) aminoacetate glycinate and acetamidomalonic acid diethyl ester, are prepared by the experimentation.According t our experimental results, choosing the Michael addition of an amino acid derivative to the methylvinylphosphinat. On this basis, We have synthesized fosthiazate. Our way to synthesize fosthiazate is easy to control in a laboratory and its raw materials easy to get, and it gives results.This study also gives our main work to develop glufosinate. We hope to do our own work in the development and production of glufosinate.
