Plasma Spraying is a modern method to manufacture the functionally gradient material thermal barrier coatings (FGM-TBCs), and the functionally gradient material thermal barrier coatings is an important wag for low heat emission engine, it has promised attractive application.In this paper, the processing to manufacture the functionally gradient material thermal barrier coating was studied, the coatings' interface was researched, the properties of coatings material that was produced by plasma spraying was tested, and the FGM-TBCs microstructure was analyzed. We can improve the properties of FGM-TBCs which can be used in practical.First, the concept and design of functionally gradient material thermal barrier coatings was offered, the principle to manufacture the FGM-TBCs using plasma spraying was also present in chapter 1; in chapter 2, several ways were designed to produce the FGM-TBCs according to the principle of plasma spraying; And in chapters, the strength and thermal properties of different FGM-TBCs were measured. At last, the relationship between the FGM-TBCs structure and strength was analyzed.Based on the experiment, the FGM-TBCs can establish the foundation of the application of coatings components with the reasonable coating structure and the obvious thermal-resistance.
