The work studies the adsorption performance of nitro-phenol-compounds and dye to activated sludge, the wok include the adsorption isotherm, adsorption saturation curve and influence factor of nitro-phenol-compounds and dye adsorption to activated sludge, provide the theoretical basis for surplus activated sludge recycle.The adsorption of nitro-phenol-compounds to activated sludge conform to Kerry type isotherm, the adsorption of dye to activated sludge conform to Langumir type or Freundlich type isotherm.The adsorption The kinetic equation of dye to activated sludge conform to The kinetice quation: In C=lnC0-kt or lnC=lnK+blnt or C=a+blnt.The adsorption quantities of nitro-phenol-compounds to activated sludge relate the number of nitro. Multi-nitro-phenol-compounds have more adsorption quantities than nitro-phenol-compounds. The adsorption quantities of dyes to activated sludge relate the dye molecule structure. Simple molecule structure dyes have more adsorption quantities than complex molecule structure dyes. The molecule structure has some affect on activated sludge reaching the adsorption saturation.In the scale of pH 6-9, pH have no effect on the adsorption quantities of 2,4,6-trinitrophenol, 2,4-dinitrophenol, and 2-nitrophenol to activated sludge. Under salinity 0.5%, the salinity has no effect on the adsorption quantities of Reactive Brilliant Red X-3B, Reactive Brilliant Red K-2BP, Reactive Red-Violet X-2R and Reactive Turquoise Blue KN-G and to activated sludge. In the scale of salinity 0.5%-1.5%, the adsorption quantities of these five dyes to activated sludge augment with decreasing salinity. In the scale of salinity 1.5%-2%, the adsorption quantities of these five dyes to activated sludge do not augment with decreasing salinity.The adsorption of nitro-phenol-compounds and dyes to activated sludge is physical adsorption and chemical adsorption result. The adsorption of nitro-phenol-compounds and dyes to activated sludge depend on the microbial Extracellular polymers.The phase adsorption of dyes to activated sludge can divide two steps: the first step is activated sludge microbial Extracellular polymers physical adsorption and chemicaladsorption of dyes, in the step, the adsorption time is short, the adsorption quantities is great; the second step is zoogloea bacillary surface enzyme chemical adsorption, in the step, the adsorption time is long, the adsorption quantities is little.
