Acylhydrazones as special schiff base, have strong coordination ability, good biological activities and other excellent properties, make them to be potential drugs and funtional materials. The definition, classification, coordination behaviours ,properties and applications of acylhydrazones have been reviewed in this paper.2,5-Thiophenedicarboxylic acid ,which was produced from adipic acid and thionyl chloride, was esterified, hydrazinnolized and then condensated with aroyladehydes to synthesize seven 2,5-thiophenediacylhydrazones;seven 4,5-imidazolediacylhydrazones were made from tartaric acid by similar steps. Experiment turn out:the condensation reaction of the acylhydrazide and aroyladehydes in glacial acetic acid could be finished very quickly( from several seconds to ten minutes) in soft condition with high yield (82-99%),and the work-up was simple too. These 14 new compounds were characterized by elementary analysis,IR,'H NMR and I3C NMR.We synthesize seven complexes of salicyladehyde-2,5-thiophenediacylhydrazone,salicyladehyde-4,5-imidazolediacylhydrazone and Cu2+,Zn2+,Ni2+,use elementary analysis,IR andTG-DTA to characterize these new complexes, and discuss on the coordination behaviours of the acylhydrzones in this part.In order to make chemical foundation for people to find new medicine,we synthesize the acylhydrazones of heterocycles such as thiophione and imidazole,For these,we do preliminary experiment to test their antibacterial activity, but couldn't get ideal result due to their bad solubilities or improper experiment model, the contents and methods of biological activity tests should be altered and improved, the biological activities of the compounds need further study.
