The purpose is to develop a kind of frictional composite with better tribological properties based on multi-fibers by considering hybrid effect ,the material performance and making full use of Y-3 filler which is the special local product in Fijian province. The effect of fibre, resin, and filler in multi-fibres hybrid frictional composite were researched by the two interactive experiments and other adjust experiments. As the results ,there are distinct hybrid effect between the steel fibre and Kevlar fibre, carton fibre and aluminum silicate fiber, which is important to the friction coefficient. The carton fibre and Kevlar fibre also have big influence to the friction coefficient for their good characters .The wood fibre has the same character as the carton fibre in the high temperature, Being a kind of excellent filler Y-3 filler helps to improve the friction stability and wear-resistance of the friction material by increasing its content. Two kind of brake material formula can be achieved for heavy automobile and light automobile separately. And another brake material formula also can be achieved in which the carbon fiber was replaced by the wood fiber based on the researching of the effect of fibre, resin and filler in multi-fibres hybrid compositeTest result shows that the formula material have a relatively suitable friction coefficient (ranging around 0.35), good fade resistance and recovery as well as low wear ratio .by comparing the formula material with the product of national and abroad sold in the market, its low cost and excellent properties make a bright prospect.Simultaneity the friction mechanism was investigated based on the surface morphology inspected by SEM. The transfer film make the surface more smooth and decrease the wear ratio greatly.
