Study On UBF-Coagulation Process For Brewery Wastewater Treatment

This study used UBF-Coagulation Process to treat brewerywastewater .The contents of the study include acclimation of anaerobic sludge, startup of UBF reactor, the performance of brewery wastewater treatment in UBF and the effects of operation factors ,the efficiency of coagulation effluent from UBF reactor ,and the discharge manner of washing bottle wastewater. The results of the experiment showed that:(1) When Hydraulic retention time(HRT) was 13h,Average Volume Loading Rate(VLR) was 4.1kgCOD/m3 . d, water temperature was 20~25 ,the average removal rate of COD was 74% in UBF reactor.(2) The bio-film on elastic packing was growing well with a thickness of 1 ~2mm.Thewhole packing part can remove 33.5 % ~53.5 % COD in filter part.(3) The UBF system was impacted very small by COD removal rate When the COD VLR of UBF reactor increased from 1.7KgCOD/m3 . d to 7.9 KgCOD/m3 . d, which showed the UBF reactor has strong buffer ability to resist water quality variety(4) The pH motion effected COD removal rate, but the system has stronger ability to resist pH variety.(5) Water temperature effected the UBF system to do away with COD removal rate, and we got a positive relation between temperature and COD removal rate.(6) COD was removed by 27.3 % ~53.9% and COD concentration was lower than150mg/L after the effluent of UBF reactor coagulated with 50mg/L PAC, and the effluent quality after coagulation attained the Sewer Water Quality Standards.(7) COD removal rate was over 90% with UBF-Coagulation process to treating brewery wastewater, and the process is more economic than other two-stage treatment process. The results of the experiment had some value to apply UBF reactor to treat brewery wastewater or other similar wastewater.
