This paper investigated the mechanisms and reasons about Jiu Steel's Q235continuous casting slab the cracks initiated and grown during the unsteady-state and steady-state casting process by sulphur print, the low multiple inspection and SEM analysis. It's shown that soldification structure, segregation and strain were the main factors which can lead internal cracks forming of the continuous casting slab; and in the production of Jiu Steel's continuous casting slab, controling Mn/S, casting temperature, cooling strength and rolling gap displacement and bulge were main measures to prevent and eliminate the slab halfway cracks in the future, and shown the direction to improve the internal quality of slab.
