Maize is one of the three main crops of the world. It is also one of the main crops of china. The consumption of maize in our country can be classified as food consumption and industrial consumption. The industrial consumption counts over 80 percent of all maize consumption. In recent years, the industrial consumption of maize is ever increasing. For this reason, it is significant to improve the level of multipurpose utilization of maize.Over 80 percent of the content of maize is starch, so it is widely used in producing starch. Currently many of our starch factories are very big. In the procession of extracting starch from maize, it will bring a great deal of soak water. In the past, many starch factories simply condense it and sold it cheaply as maize slurry or they even discharge them as waste. In fact, there are lots of protein and lipopolysaccharide(LPS) in the soak water. The LPS is a substance that has biological activity. It can play an important role in anticancer or in improving human's immunity. If we can extract the protein and LPS from the soak water, the profit of starch factories will increase greatly.The study begins at the analyzing of the content of soak water. The result make it clear that for sure there are plenty of protein and LPS and amylose and some acid in the soak water. It deserves to the development.The protein is the most of the solid in the soak water. LPS in the soak water is few and far between. First of all, most of the protein should be extracted from the soak water. Then concentrate the soak water and then separate protein and amylose further more. LPS can be easily adsorbed by the active carbon, so we separate the LPS from water by active carbon. Of course some of the rudimental protein and amylose will also be absorbed by the active carbon. The next step is to take out the LPS from active carbon and purify it. This step is finished by a method called chromatogram separating.Finally the whole project utilization of soak water of maize is tested in a medium scale and we also finished its industrialization analysis. The outcome shows that in case the utilization of soak water come into being, it will bring high economic and social benefit.
