In this paper, the process of plate flanging under intensive pulse electromagnetic field is simulated and experimented; the calculation model of plate flanging load is established; the simulation of the current in working coil and the process of plate dynamic response to magnetic force are finished with the software ANSYS, furthermore, the electro-magnetic flanging system is developed with APDL and UIDL.There has been two research methods in electromagnetic plate flanging: engineering analysis and finite element numerical simulation, but there is much error between the results and the actual result. The error comes from two sides, one is the neglect of mutual influence of workpiece and coil; the other is the neglect of radial magnetic force.Therefore, considering the mutual influence of workpiece and coil, the thesis simulates the current change rule with time by use of straight coupling method to make one node or groups nodes in the circuit be same to that in the electromagnetic field, the result agrees well with the measure value.Regarded the simulation current as load of coupling analysis of electromagnetic structure, dynamic response analysis of electromagnetic plate flanging is made by means of indirect coupling method. During the analysis of electromagnetic, the time and position characteristics of axial and radial magnetic force, the distributing of coupling current on the workpiece surface are obtained. The distributing of magnetic vector, flux density, magnetic induction intension also can be obtained. During the research of structure dynamic response, considering the influence of radial magnetic force, the ultimate shape of workpiece can be gotten under the magnetic force (radial and axial), which is input by the command LDREAD. The simulation result is close to the measure result. The post processor can find the dangerous field of electromagnetic plate flanging; the velocity and acceleration of workpiece distortion are researched.The FEA simulation system of the electromagnetic flanging which inset ANSYS is developed in APDL and UIDL. The system divides electromagnetic flanging analysis into two parts, one is coupling analysis of electromagnetic and circuit, the other is coupling analysis of magnetic and structure. Title section, data controlling section and help section are edited, the macro file of electromagnetic plate flanging is finished by use of the parameter passing and the function transfer, and the analysis of electromagnetic plate flanging is also parameterized. The users just input relevant parameters, the current of working coil and the process of the plate dynamic response is simulated automatically, and then the system of electromagnetic plate flanging simulation is integrated with ANSYS.
