With the rapid advance of the technologies of computers, communications and networks, people in the fields of the industries and sciences are more and more paying attention to the technologies based on the internet of remote online monitoring and fault diagnosis, and therefore, it is becoming of inevitable trend.This task exploited a software system for remote online monitoring and fault diagnosis based on internet making use of many technologies including ADO, ActiveX, ASP, JSP, Database and CORBA, etc. This system has remote real-time monitoring and has sound-light alarm, handy calculating, trend forecasting, history data querying, perfect database saving and fault diagnosis ways. Clients do not load any application programs and if they know only URL of web server and put into IP, they can visit the software system because the software system adopted technologies based on B/S mode.This paper introduced simply developing status in quo about remote online monitoring and fault diagnosis. And this paper discussed particularly its reality-methods about high-speed-wires rolling mill based on remote online monitoring and remote fault diagnosis. At the same time, it put forward some shortages and improved methods in the future.Running in the labor proved that the system interface is friendly and easy to study. It has better security, well portability, well expandability and well stability. The system has some ideas to borrow for more perfect in the future.
