As a kind of water treatment medicament , chlorine dioxide(C102) is wildly used in water treatment field because of its excellent functions. Utilizing its strong oxidizability to treat refractory wastewater is one of the primary uses of C102 in water treatment. The preparation of catalyst of C102 catalytic oxidation , C102 chemical oxidation system and C102 catalytic oxidation system were studied in this paper. The results showed that 4% dip-liquid , 300℃350℃ and 2 hours of calcination were the best preparation conditions for catalysts. pH=68, lOOOmg C102/L wastewater, reacting 6Omin were the most efficient and economical, when treating Acid Brilliant Scarlet GR dyestuff wastewater, the COD of which was 3500mg/L, by C102 chemical oxidation. The COD removal ratio exceeded 50%. When treating the wastewater by catalytic oxidation which was composed of C102 and special catalyst , pH=2, 800mg C102/L wastewater, reacting 4560min were the most efficient and economical. The COD removal ratio exceeded 80%, and the oxidation index was 3. 49 (COD removal amount/ C102 used amount). The cost of oxidant removing 1kg COD was ¥3.72.Catalyst life, catalyst recovery and mechanism of C102 catalytic oxidation were elementarily developed . The study illuminated that C102 catalytic oxidation was an efficient method to treat refractory wastewater and it had a broad prospect.
