Pingshuo opencast mine area locates in the Pinglu division of Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province. It links with specially large-scale coalfield, called" Black triangle", in Loess Plateau on the borders area of Shanxi Province, Shaanxi Province and Inner Mongolia Region. It is an eco-environment system susceptible to environmental changes, and hard to keep stableness. We selected Antaibao(ATB) mine in Pingshuo as study area, applying various methods of quantitative ecology, to analyze the relationship between plant community and environment Firstly, by using the richness indices, diversity indices, evenness indices and DCCA, multi-factors liner regression, correlation analysis, we study the relationships of community types, environmental variables and community structure. The results are as follows: the more complex the structures are, the more obvious the layers are, the higher the diversity indices are. With the increase of the water conditions in soil and the succession procession, all diversity indices are increased. All the community indices are influenced by Zn..The correlations between the abundance and organic matter and time are significant The same are between the heterogeneous diversity and elevation. Cu mainly influences evenness. The multi-factors liner regression is more effective than correlation analysis. DCCA, as the supplement to the quantitative analysis, can explain die insignificant factors in the regression and correlation analysis.Secondly, by using the niche breadth, niche overlap, and Twinspan, DCA, we study the roles of the dominant species in communities and the relationships of communities. The results are as follows: die decisive factors affecting resource exploitation of species are light and water. The conditions related to resource exploitation of dominant species vary with community composition. The species with the biggest niche breadth are not always constructive species. Niche overlap, as sign measuring the similarity to the resource exploitation of species, has a certain contact with species competition. The interspecific association of dominant species were analyzed by using x 2test, Jaccard indices, Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients. The result says that the x 2test is higher, and the Spearman rank correlation test is better than Pearson test The dominant species were divided into 2 ecological groups in grassland community, while the result is 3 in the thicket community, and 4 in the forest community.Lastly, by using the Niche preemption model, Broken stick model, Overlapping niche model and Logarithmic series distribution, species relative abundance distribution in forest community, thicket community and grassland community in ATB were studied. The results show that the forest community can be well described by Logarithmic series distribution. While the grassland community and the thicket community can be described by Broken stick model.
