Study On The Preparation And Quality Standards Of Xiongdanniouhuang Capsules

Xiongdanniouhuang Capsules, which is made from Fel Ursi ,Calculus Bovis,Rhizoma Coptidis,Herba Ephedrae,Oleum Menthae Dementholatum and Indigo Naturalis ,is an effective prescription in treating common cold. The auther has made a study on its preparation and quality standard.1. Study on the prepartionIn accordance with properties of medicinal materials and specificity of indications of the presciription,the capsules was selected as the dosage form of the drug. At first, The extraction of Rhizoma Coptidis and Herba Ephedrae was compared with that of Rhizoma Coptidis according to berberine. Second, The orthogonal design was used to select the optimum extraction process according to berberine and ephedrine. At last, An optimal condition for the preparation of the Oleum Menthae Dementhol atum-β-CYD was established by orthogonal test. On the basis of these studies,combining specifity of medicinal materials and requirements of the dosage form, the preparation process was ascertained for the Xiongdanniouhuang Capsules. 2. Study on Quality StandardThe Fel Ursi ,Calculus Bovis,Rhizoma Coptidis,Herba Ephedrae,Oleum Menthae Dementholatum and Indigo Naturalis were indentified by TLC. For the sake of assay of berberine, a new high performance liquid chromatography method was developed. Average recovery rate was 98.78%, while RSD was 1.18%. Assay method was validated in the research of content. On the basis of the above mentioned quantitative analysis menthod for berberin quality standard of Xiongdanniouhuang capsuled was drafted.
