In this thesis, based on AutoCAD 2000 by the tool of Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and Object ARX 2000, through analysis about the characteristic of plastic injection mold design, the Computer Aided Design system of side-parting core-pulling mechanism for the plastic injection mold was developed.The paper first gave an account of the basic knowledge of AutoCAD, and tried the second development of AutoCAD. The CAD system of side-parting core-pulling mechanism which included oblique guide pillar , slant sliding block etc was created. In all this process the parametric drafting, the applications and management of database, and the technology of object-oriented programming were systematically explored. A user-friendly visual interface was customized with the technology of guide property page and label property page on the basis of the AutoCAD interface, which accorded with the demands of mold design, and a special menu was designed for the CAD system. At last, an actual process of the mold design for a plastic part was demonstrated, which showed that the idea of system was feasible and it could be used expediently to satisfy the demands of mold design.The system had better capability to deal with the fault and illogical information, the open system frame made it easy that the other modules were integrated with the system, at the same time the secure mechanism made the system flexible and have a longer lifecycle.
