The hyperbranched polymer have been attracted considerable attention due to its highly branched units with peculiar properties, such as low melt viscosity, dissolubility, non-entanglement and a large number of active end groups. Hyperbranched polymers were widely used in many fields, such as functional materials, clinical medicine, supramolecular chemistry, biochemistry and pharmaceutical industry. The paper have three sections, the main results of each section are as following:In Chapter 1: the overviews of the progress in the hyperbranched polymers science and hyperbranched polymers' modifications were given, including the synthesis, characterization and application, and so on.In Chapter 2 of this paper, the AB2 type hyperbranched poly(amine-ester)s with end active hydroxyl groups were synthesized, and characterized by FTIR, MS, DSC, TG, VPO techniques, and so on. The results show that two hyperbranched polymers had the similar structures and properties. The polymers also possess good dissolubility and meltability even at high reaction degree without gelation. In Chapter 3 of the paper, the end active hydroxyl groups of the hyperbranched poly(amine-ester)s were modified by the acid anhydride and acyl halide, and so on .The modified hyperbranched poly(amine-ester)s were characterized by IR, DSC, TG and viscosity measurement. The results indicated the modification had taken place.
