This paper mainly performs the design and mechanical analysis and research on cold extrusion mold of the gear axis in cars. Turning from cutting in the past to cold extrusion technics, this part is realized little flotsam process and improved quality, that's the advancement in machining technique.The main task in this paper is as follows: Firstly based on the volume and distortion degree extrusion force can be calculated, based on the force extrusion equipment should be chosen, then the shape size of the hold mold can be fixed on. Secondly we can design the mold in detailed by using UQ and get the parts drawing and assembly drawing of the mold. Thirdly the part enduring the biggest load should be analyzed, by ANSYS the most dangerous area of this mold can be got, and on this base improving design should be carried through, then optimization of the design can come true.By the design and mechanical analysis and research on the gear axis mold, the author thinks that although it's ordinary for gear axis cold extrusion, it's very strict to design the mold. Especially the choice of the variation section transition angle brings great influence on the mold life and the work-piece's quality. At the same time it brings convenience for replacing and improve the mold quality by advance stress sleeve and fission structure.Along with the appearance of the new type material, mold steel and big tonnage pressure machine, cold extrusion technics is becoming the developing way in modern machining of middle or small parts.
