Kiln tail structure is the core in cement plant. Disposal of the structure is complex for its big height, small planar size and limitations in craftwork and equipment. There is no criterion or specification for this kind of structure at the present time. This has negatively affected the rationality and security in design. The author goes deep into discussing the performance of kiln tail structure according to the actual working status. The author of the article, having mainly adopted FPE analysis, aims to investigate the design of modeling, choice of column cross-section form and supporting form of kiln tail structural system in cement plants. With the application and redevelopment of STAADCHINA software, the best column cross-section form and supporting form were drawn together with the controlling elements and designing ways.Targeting at the most commonly used 1500t/d kiln tail structure in cement plants, by simplifying the calculation model, the author chose the proper essential loading working conditions according to the actual load situation and grouped them into reasonable calculating models. When optimization calculation, the author analyzed the P-delta effect, under the combined effect of horizontal and vertical load, to calculate the structure of kiln tail, and discussed the dynamic performance under seism. The result of research pointed out that the frame columns of kiln tail structure are the main part to carry vertical load, and the support, mainly carrying vertical load, as well as some vertical load from main beams of flat. Steel braced frames should be a better structural system for kiln tail structure compared with steel frames. The central lateral displacement of column top of platform can be controlled effectively by improve the bending rigidity of the weak axis of the main beams. Choosing among different column cross-section forms and supporting forms in structural designing of kiln tail would have a great effect on the integral working performances and construction costs. CFST column is the best column cross-section form while the best supporting form is Y-shape supporting. Moreover, P-delta effect and earthquake registered under 7 degree would not take controlling effect in design.In conclusion, the author gave out modeling method of kiln tail structure as well as controlling elements and designing methods of frame columns and support, which, concluded from calculation and analysis, could function as references to construction design.
