To improve the measurement accuracy while measuring large diameters using rollers, the errors which affect measurement precision should be corrected such as that caused by the distortion of the rollers and temperature fluctuate etc. So five kinds of transducers, more than 30 in number totally are used in the developed measuring system, and those transducers should work in phase. Hardware and software of the data acquisition and controlling sub-system, some theoretical analysis and experimentation are introduced in the paper. Especially, a new method of software controlled synchronous sampling in a multi-sensor data acquisition system based on virtual instrument is studied, that is a real time measurement controlling signal from one kind sensor in the measurement system is used to control the start and stop of other sensors' signal acquisition. It is proved that this method has realized the timing coherence of signal acquisition of each kind of sensor when the movement state of the measurand cannot be controlled accurately.
