The yield of decorative material of wood-based panel was unceasingly rising with the increasing out put of wood -based panel year by year. Because of the shortage of the precious trees, the surface decorative material of resin-impregnated paper and decorative laminates were increased about 6 percent annually. They occupy a large increasing market. On the other hand, fire disaster has taken place frequently all over the world. The new requirement was made to the flame retardation of the decorative material.In this thesis, flame retardation treatment of decorative laminates from synthetic resins was done by changing the dosage of flame retardant Al(OH)3 and dispersing agent, the number of layer for resin -impregnated by fiberglass, added to coupling agent. In addition, influence of abrasion resistance and flame retardation for decorative laminates were compared among four different minute powder.The flame retardant Al (OH)3, dispersing agent, resin-impregnated paper, fiberglass, added to coupling agent, SiOi and Corundum powder etc. test material came from factory or institute in the research. The method of orthogonal experiment was used in test design. The technology of hot pressing was "hot -cold -hot "for decorative laminates from synthetic resins.The result showed that in the scope of experiment the most appropriate condition for the decorative laminates was: Al (OH) 3 of 6 percent, dispersing agent of 0.5 percent, resin-impregnated paper of 9 layer. The oxygen index (OI) of decorative laminates from synthetic resins could meet the first combustion grade of the Japanese standard (JISD 1201-77).It was practical that a part of resin -impregnated paper was replaced by fiberglass and the coupling agent was added to the decorative laminates by changing the structure of it to increase its flame retardation. It could meet the first combustion grade of the Japanese standard (JISD 1201-77). In the scope of experiment the abrasion resistance of decorative laminates from synthetic resins its abrasion resistance could be increased and its oxygen index (OI) could meet the third combustion grade of the Japanese standard (JIS D 1201-77).
