| LPG has the characteristics of high burning efficiency, no pollution to the environment so it is called the clean green energy. In addition, it also is an excellent chemical material. So LPG is used in various fields. However, LPG has some defaults, such as easy burn, easy explosion, and easy change and so on. In order to reduce investment, its storage is in lower temperature and liquated state. With the development of the LPG industry, the building of low temperature storage tanks is exciting people's concern widely. Currently, the steel which is used to make low temperature storage tanks is almost from other countries and it is very expensive. If the material made in our own country can be used to replace the imported one, its cost will be decreased greatly. Therefore, we analyzed and compared the characteristics between the steel plate of Chinese 09MnNiDR and Japanese A537 on the basis of survey and research enough. The weldability of steel has been got by its heat simulation test, Method of Y-groove cracking test, testing method of maximum hardness in weld heat-affected zone and so on, and the split situation in the welded joint has been got by Method of impact test for welded joint and test method of crack opening displacement in welded joints, In addition, the further research was done by the destructive test.Based on the result of experiment, the conclusion is as follows: there is no obvious difference in the various characteristics between the Chinese 09MnNiDR steel and Japanese A537 steel. When the proper welding materials and welding procedure are used, Chinese 09MnNiDR steel can replace completely the imported A537 one in building the LPG low temperature storage tanks. |
