With the rapid development of electronic industry, additional liquid silicone potting material, for its outstanding performance, is increasingly used in electronic parts and is considered as a new prospective material used in electronic industry. Single component additional liquid silicone potting material enables the encapsulation of electronic parts requiring a simple apparatus and is excellent in operational convenience and the quality of potting products which depends hardly on apparatus and technique. It has been being a new development variety of potting materials in overseas in recent years and needs heat in curing. Up to now, very few domestic scholars make researches in the field, consequently it is very significant to study on single component additional liquid silicone potting material.The material, the compounding recipe of the sealant and the technological condition are addressed in this paper, which indicates that the essential ingredients of single component additional liquid silicone potting material are vinyl silicone oil, hydrosilicone oil,platinum catalyst, inhibitor and rein-forcing filler.The key properties of additional liquid silicone potting material in electronic industry are viscosity, mechanical property and dielectric property. The effects of the material, the composition structure, the compounding recipe and the technology on properties are discussed and the following conclusions are obtained:(1) Affecting factors of viscosity: adding amount of the reinforcing filler and its dispersing ways in vinyl silicone oil affect the rubber compound' s viscosity significantly. When the adding amount is overmuch,the rubber compound' s viscosity increases rapidly; adding of silane coupling agent and non-reinforcing filler (i.e. titanium oxide) can reduce the rubber compound' s viscosity; if the viscosity of vinyl silicone oil is too high, fumed silica couldn' t disperse uniformly in it and the rubber compound' s viscosity would be slightly higher. (2) Affecting factors of mechanics properties: with increasing of fumed silica amount, the mechanics properties of additional silicone all increase, when the amount is 6C, the tensile strength achieves a optimum, when the molecule weight of vinyl silicone rubber is too low, the mechanics properties of additional silicone is poor, the suitable viscosity of vinyl silicone oil is lOOOcp; adding of titanium oxide as non-reinforcing filler can improve the mechanics properties.(3) Affecting factors of dielectric properties: adding amount of the reinforcing filler affect the dielectric properties significantly, when the adding amount is increased, the dielectric properties can be improved; adding of titanium oxide, dielectric properties is reduced.Based on the quantitative structure-property relationship obtained from this study, a optimized production technology to produce rubber mass is given as follow:Formulating of recipe: vinyl silicone oil 100 parts, hydrosilicone oil 1. 7 parts; platinum catalystA-C 0. 01 parts; organic peroxide A as inhibitor Iparts; fumed silica as reinforcing filler 6C parts.Technical line: pretreatment of materialdisperse fumed silicaAdding other ingredients vacuumize low temperaturestockpileSingle component additional liquid silicone rubber potting material prepared from this paper goes through the performance test analysis, and the results show that its performance parameters are corresponding withthe same kind of overseas product, so it can completely substitute the imported product.A production process of producing potting material 10 ton annually is optimized according to the experimental formulating of recipe.
