| In this article, we describe the synthesis and structure of four p-diketiminato lanthanide complexes.1.Reactions of anhydrous LnCl3 with 1 equiv. of LLi (L = PhN=C(Me)CHC(Me)=NPh) gave the following complexes: LLnCl,(THF): (Ln = Sm (1), Y (2), Yb (3)). These complexes were characterized by elementary analysis and IR spectra.2.The molecular structures of complexes 1 and 2 were determined by X-ray diffractometer. The results revealed that these two complexes are isostructural. The central metal adopts a distorted octahedral geometry, coordinated by two nitrogen atoms from (3-diketiminato ligand, two chlorine atoms, and two oxygen atoms from two THF molecules.3.Complex 3 reacts with 1 equiv. of C,Me,Na in toluene to give the [LYb(C5Me?)Cl]:. Structure determination revealed that this complex has a dimeric structure in solid state. The ytterbium atom is coordinated by a ring of C,Me5, two nitrogen atoms from (3-diketiminato ligand, and two bridged chlorine atoms to form a seven-coordinate distorted tetrahedral geometry. |
