There are mainly two kinds of roadheader: Tunnelling Boom Machine(TBM) and partial-size tunneling machine. This paper mainly discussed the boom-type roadheader that widely used in underground coal mine laneway excavation,and dicussed how to improve its laneway profiling quality. In the first part of this paper,based on the type of EBJ-132A,analized its main mechanism and working procedure of cutting part,then built the formula that related to the boom-type roadheader's correlative working parameter and the dimension of the laneway. In the second part of this paper,according to three different laneway profile,programmed boom-type roadheader working parameter caculating program,and plotted its cutting head trace. In the end of this paper,compared some hydraulic cylinder displacement measuring and control methods,presented the opinion of using numeric hydraulic cylinder on the boom-type roadheader to improve its profiling quality.
