Methane fermentation from distiller's thin stillage was carried out with acclimated-methanogens using glass bottle and stopped culture tube at pH7 .The results showed that proper concentration of trace metal can effectively promote the methane fermentation. The production rate of methane can be enhanced 17.65% and the COD degratation rate can be enhanced 14.12%.Further more,we optimized the concentration of Mg2+,Fe2+,Ni2+,Co2+.We added these optimized concentration trace metals to a 30m3 anaerobic fermenter using thin stillage as substrate and got a similar result. We also demonstrated that the anaerobic sludge can be used as organic fertilizer by soil examination and planting test.
