In this thesis, the experimental method and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation have been used to investigate uniform fluid distribution in the large-scale slot liquid distributor, which can provide theoretical data and proof to the design of the large-scale slot liquid distributor.At the bases of hydrodynamics experiments on the large-scale industrial slot liquid distributor, the main factors which result in liquid maldistribution have been found, then some economical and feasible alteration measures are brought forward, the main contents of CFD simulation are described as follow: one is the research of slot liquid distributor feed inlet mode; the other is the study of liquid baffle on the outlet of second slots.From the hydrodynamic experiments, it can be concluded that on higher liquid load the large-scale industrial slot distributor leads to fearful liquid maldistribution. It is appropriate to add flexural baffle in the first slots and change outlet hole distributing on the feed pipe, which the experimental data have justified, at the same time, it can also be used for reference by other slot liquid distributors to revise adverse factors caused by higher liquid load, to minimize the influence to static liquid distributor owing to liquid flowage.The initial liquid distribution in the slot distributors is very critical to the final distribution quality. During the simulation to the feed inlet mode, it's validated that perforated pipe can not provide completely uniform distribution, if necessary the variational outlet hole diameter is recommended for initial feed pipe; distributary have more influence on middle inlet feed mode, which can be weakened by add cushion part; different liquid outlet area leads to different distribution quality, how to choose appropriate outlet area is also worked over through contrastive method.Some limitation has been found on the traditional liquid baffle under higher liquid flow speed near the second slots outlet, which results in alteration of stream position and is bad for distribution quality. The new type liquid baffle can improve liquid distribution form at higher liquid load, providing better liquid distribution performance in the practical design and manufacture course.
