In this paper, the dispersion of glass fiber was deeply studied. Strengthened PETcomposite by the short glass fiber was made by the dissolution method. Thetechnology parameter in preparation progress was defined. The influence factors onthe properties of PET composite such as the dispersion, the content and the length ofglass fiber, KH550 coupling agent were studied. The effect of benzoic acid sodiumand talcum powder on PET crystallinity was researched.The results of experiment show the glass fiber dealed with by KH550 is notscattered in these solvents such as the water, the component solvent of phenol andtetrachloroethane, and ethyl alcohol solution of KH550, but it is evenly scattered inthe solution of PET, the concentration of which has great effect on the dispersion ofglass fiber. The glass fiber can' t be scattered when the value of consistency is below0.2664g/ml, and 0.75g glass fiber can be scattered in 100ml solution.Based on the above result, it is impossible that PET composite with evenscattered and a high content of glass fiber is made by the direct mixing of the glassfiber and the solution of PET. In this paper, the new method was putted forward. Itsprocess as followed: the first step was that a few glass fibers was added into thesolution of PET and guaranteed that glass fiber was evenly scattered, and the secondstep was that the glass fiber was filtered out, and the third step was the exclusion ofsolvent, and the last step was the formation of sample. The result showed theproperties of sample equals in all directions.Study results show when the content of glass fiber is 30% the mechanicsproperties of PET composite are the best, and the bending strength of PET compositereaches 151.4 MPa and its impact strength reaches 110.46KJ/m2, and when the lengthof glass fiber is raised from 3mm to 6mm, the bending strength of PET compositeraises by 16.1% and its impact strength raises by 62.3%, that KH550 is a kind ofexcellent coupling agent to PET/glass system, that the nucleus formation effectivenessof talcum powder is better than benzoic acid sodium'.
