Rp Based Rapid Mould Manufacturing Techniques Using Plaster Casting

The rapid manufacturing technology of plaster casting dies based on rapid prototyping(RP) is systematically and deeply studied in this paper. The RP based rapid mould making process by plaster casting is presented in this paper. Full RP based mould making process with plaster casting is developed after technique break through is made.RP based mould making process with plaster casting technique firstly uses rapid prototype as master mold, then get gypsum mould through silicone rubber mould, lastly become the final metal mould using plaster precision casting technology. The main research results are :1. Composed of RP technology, silicone rubber mould technology and plaster precision casting technology, RP based mould making process with plaster casting technology has been advanced. This process makes it possible to rapidly manufacture all kinds of moulds with short times and low cost, and it fit the new development strand of mould making technology, so it will have wide apply prospect and maker prospect.2. Full plaster casting mould making process has been researched in this paper, plaster batch component has been studied, plaster vacuo-forming processing parameters and drying-roasting processing parameters have been defined, ally moulds have been manufactured using plaster precision casting.3. Because of the actual requirement of RP based rapid mould making process by plaster casting technology industrialization, plaster vacuo-forming equipment has been fabricated.
