Real time dynamic process simulation for natural gas steam reforming is given. A Dynamic Simulation Model of Reforming Reactor is built.The two tiered approach is used here to facilitate the dynamic process simulation for multicomponent flash where hydrogen is contained. It uses the Clapeyron equation to establish the approximate model for equilibrium coefficient K. It uses the ETDF-PR equation of state to adjust the parameters, which not only guarantees the accuracy and stability, but also improves the speed of calculation.A dynamic simulation system for production of Hydrogen by natural gas steam reforming is developed to simulate processes of starting and stopping, operations under normal and abnormal conditions with a super real time speed. The system has been practised in the plant of Yanshan Petrochemical Corporation. Its practical application in the production plant shows that the software can be used to guide practical plant operation and process reforming, optimize operating parameters.
