In cementing engineering, that controlling the fluid loss of the oil well cementing slurries is very important for enveloping the oik gas and water, that is improving the cementing quality, and is very important for protecting the energy resources. The method of adopting the fluid loss additives to control the water loss of the cement slurries is in common use. In our country, researching and applying the fluid loss additives began from the early days of the 1980's, the water-solubility synthetic polymer kind of which has been developed very soon especially. Although, there are many breeds in water-solubility synthetic polymer fluid loss additives, mostly of them have no ideal performance, and adding to that the drilling stratum become more and more complex such as deep well saline stratum, so the property request of the fluid loss additives is more and more exigent too. Therefore, it is necessary to keep on studing and developing the better performance fluid loss additives.The acrylamide kind polymers have a very wide application in oil field, like drilling cementing exclusion of water compressive fracture and flooding oil etc. This paper synthesized the polymer fluid loss additives product finally with the monomer AM and AMPS, adopting the method of the water solution free radical copolymerization and through repeated experimental study to screening the composed terms. In this paper, the solution property of the FP have been studied, the structure of which were validated by the infrared spectrum, the assessment method and the standard of criterion have been established and the product FP were evaluated all-sided. The result indicated that the FP have better temperature and salt resistance, when the blending amount is 0.6% it can reduce the fluid loss below the 100ml/7.0MPa.30min in any saline condition; the FP can effectively improve the rheological behavior of the cementing slurries and has good compatibility with other additives; the FP has advantageous performance comparing with several common use commodity fluid loss additives and has a good marketing spread and application prospect.This paper discussed the action mechanism of the oil well cementing fluid loss additives, especially the action mechanism of the polymer fluid loss additives in detail.Besides, through studying the filtrate viscosity and the filter cake permeability of the blending FP cementing slurries, this paper consider that the FP reduce the fluid loss not by increasing the filtrate viscosity but mainly by reducing the filter cake permeability.
