The experiments carried out in a drop-tube furnace or a TGA show that the mixture of caustic lime with fly ash can enhance the SO2 removal rate and the calcium utilization of the calcium based sorbent. The effect correlates with the reaction temperature. The best result can be achieved when the reaction temperature ranges from 550℃ to 700℃. The effect is also studied of the mixing ways of fly ash with caustic lime on the SO2 removal rate and the calcium utilization of the calcium-based sorbent. Meanwhile, four samples with different pore characteristics are prepared by mixing fly ash with limestone. The desulfurization characteristics of these samples are studied while the effect of several parameters such as reaction time, reaction temperature is considered. The pore structural parameters of reacted samples are measured with specific surface area measuring instrument, and the control mechanism of desulfurization reaction is analysed in the view of pore structural properties, as well as the relationship between the SO2 removal rate and the pore structural parameters of reacted samples is studied.
