Luminescent ceramics is the application that the luminescent materials in ceramics profession. Currently, the research of luminescent ceramic glaze are mainly concentration of ZnS and SrAl2O4 luminescent ceramic glaze, they are most belong to low temperature luminescent glaze, only few in the research of medium temperature glaze, but the temperature also can not above 1050℃. The low temperature luminescent ceramic glaze have many weakness such as combining with body difficultly, creating flaw on the surface of glaze easily, bad luminescent capability and narrow of application, etc. Now, the report of research for medium and high temperature luminescent ceramic glaze is very few.In this paper, a new-type phosphors of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ was synthesized by sol-gel methods, and then it was applied to the medium and high temperature luminescent ceramic glaze in the temperature of 1050℃-1150℃. It is successfully to obtain the medium and high temperature luminescent ceramic glaze of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ first time.This paper systematically studies the basic process of synthesizing Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphors; Discussing its properties of chemical stability and be capable of enduring high temperature and water. The paper discusses both the luminescent capability and the luminescence mechanism of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphors. Then, the paper studies the process of preparation for luminescent ceramics glaze of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+, discuss the burning regulations of luminescent ceramic glaze, and obtain the best burning condition to produce very better luminescent glaze ceramics. It is also studies the effect of granularity of the luminescent materials and basic glaze, the containing ratio of luminescent powdery, glaze thickness on the luminescent capability and the quality of glaze surface of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ luminescent ceramic glaze.The luminous intensity and decay time Meter, XRD, SEM, Spectrophotometer indicate that the luminescent glaze obtained maintains the phosphorescenceproperties of Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ phosphor, it exhibits broad band emission spectra peaking at 496nm; it also have a excellent luminescent capability and good quality of glaze surface, it can be applied to maximum 1150℃, the persistence time last 12 hours.
