In this paper,parameters of semi-dry flue gas desulfurization for the spouted bed were optimizated.Results showed that primary parameters were Ca/S , approach to saturation temperature and static bed height ,in which Ca/S and approach to saturation temperature mainly effected on SO2 removal.It was demonstrated that SO2 removal of 92% can achieved at Ca/S=1 .7 when approach to saturation temperature was 10°C and static bed height was 150mm by orthogonal analysis. After multi-linear regression for experimental data, a regression equation of SO2 removal was gained.Based on scale-up rule of spouted bed ,a rectangular spouted bed with double nozzles was designed as a scale-up spouted bed. The hydromechanical characteristics were studied for the rectangular spouted bed.Some effects on the minimal spouted velocity,the maximal spouted pressure drop and the spouting height were dicussed,such as particles diameters, static bed height, the nature of air and superficial gas velocity.The result indicated that the minimal spouted Reynold was greatly affected by the ratio of particles diameters to the spouted bed diameters when static bed height located in the rectangular bed; and the minimal spouted Reynold was greatly affected by the ratio of densities when static bed height located in the spouted cells.The maximal spouted pressure drop was inversely proportional to the particles diameters and proportional to the static bed height and the superficial gas velocity.The spouting height was proportional to the superficial gas velocity and inversely proportional to the particles diameters and static bed height.Furthermore,the formulae were put forward about the minimal spouted Reynold,the maximal spouted pressure drop and the spouting height.The comparison between the rectangular spouted bed and the circular spouted bed was made.The experimental results showed that it can gained less maximal spouted pressure drop and more spouting height in the rectangular spouted bed.
