Theoretical analysis, computer analog simulation and numerical calculation have been performed to investigate the flow and heat transfer characteristics of rubber compound in the extrusion processing, at the meantime, experiments are given on the thermophysical characteristics of rubber compound. In the part of theoretical analysis, the hydrodynamics and heat transfer essential theories have been used. The subject investigated in the analysis is the molten rubber compound in extruding part of a pin barrel single-screw extruder. The flow and heat transfer characteristic have been analyzed deeply. By the necessary assumption and simplification, the mathematic model and physical model have been given, also the corresponding control equations of the model. In the part of experiment, the specific heat and the thermal conductivity of various rubber compounds have been tested respectively. The relations of the specific heat and the thermal conductivity with the change of temperature are given; all these thermophysical parameters are indispensable to computer analog simulation and numerical calculation as follows. And moreover, the effect on the thermophysical characteristics caused by the content of black carbon is studied here, the result show that the specific heat increases linearly with the increase of the black carbon mass percent, but the effect on the thermal conductivity caused by the content of black carbon is irregular. In the part of computer analog simulation, based on the fundamental assumption and boundary condition of fused mass deliver theory, through the reasonable simplification of the pin barrel extruder structure, we apply the finite element software ANSYS to the flowage analysis of rubber compound in the cross-section of screw slot. The result show that the existing pin can improve the mixture of rubber, strengthen the heat transfer and have a crucial effect on canceling the area of zero velocity in the flow field center. In the part of numerical calculation, by means of the two-dimensional uniflow model, and considering the coupling effect among...
