This paper deals with the design and development of the real time automation system, based on DCS (Distributing Control System), for the facility under the electron beam in radiation-processing. It covers this system's structure, real time inspection of EPS electron accelerator's important parameters, precise identify of cargo-carried vehicles' number, accurate control of cargo-carried vehicles' speed, under high-speed electron beam, this system's software and hardware design and so on.The real time automation system for the facility under the electron beam is one of the key links in process control and quality control of radiation procession. Additionally, it is an important technical instrumentality to realize automatic production, scientific management, safe operation and energy saving. It can not only improve production efficiency, severely control radiation procession's dosage, reduce labor intensity and costing, but also insure production reliability and stability.Therefore, it is very essential to optimally design and develop the real time automation system for the facility under the electron beam with advanced technique and mature devices.This real time automation system introduces DCS based on RS-485, realizes the real time inspection of the EPS electron accelerator's important parameters, gives alarms and realizes the chain control between cargo-carried vehicles' speed and electron beam intensity. The writer designs the interface between RS-232 and RS-485, establishes a set of pressing communication protocol between the chips and the upper-computer, fulfills accurate control of cargo-carried vehicles' speed by applying the theory of PID (Proportional-Integral-Differential) rotate speed and vector control, and describes its feasibility and predominance in this paper.Finally, this paper analyzes benefit, proposes some anti-jamming measures taken to this real time automation system. Moreover, this paper explores improvement way in allusion to this real time automation system.
