| CAE for plastic injection molding technology has been more and more widely used in the mold industry. It can not only remarkably reduce the cost and development time of new products, but also is the best tool for training mold engineers. CAE for plastic injection molding software is usually divided into three subsystems: pre-processing system, numeric analysis system of injection molding process, and post-processing system. The function of pre-processing system is to prepare data for the numeric analysis system of injection molding process, and the most important work of it is to provide meshes for the analysis. The key technology of the HSCAE-3DRF6.0 in the meshing part has been discussed in this paper including the types of the input file, the mesh of surface and the mesh of solid.In order to cooperate perfectly with the CAD software, the ability of reading the output file of mesh of these software must be had by the system. Comparing to the old version, HSCAE-3DRF6.0 has the ability to input the mesh file of UG, ProE, I-DEAS and so on besides of reading STL file. In the system, the mesh of surface is not only the base for producing solid mesh, but also used to analyse the mold process, so it is the most important part of the system. The progress of the meshing is completely discussed in this paper from the simplification of complex surface models, triangular meshing and node matching.Meshing solid mesh are also discussed. The Delaunay rules of tetrahedron and the process of meshing has been given and the key technology of inserting node and exchanging faces of tetrahedron are also been discussed in details. |
