The application field of ERP is becoming farer and wider along with warm commercial competition, And ERP can't work well without MES so MES is an important part of ERP. MES is execution-oriented information system and can optimize management by information transmission from order to production. There are more and more foreigners studying MES especially ten years before nowadays, few domestic people study it and the research work is basically limited in stage of latency. Study in depth of enterprise information process in theory and application became too pressing to admit of longer delay.Production scheduling is one of indispensable core, this paper studies it's characteristics in process industry and analyses some methods about implementation of scheduling. Taking Qingshan paper mill as an example, optimal model for order-oriented scheduling and paper rolls slitting is established respectively, optimal results are obtained by using proper arithmetic and these show well. The content of this paper are as follows:1 The meaning, development and function frame of MES are introduced as well as the relation of MES to ERP. The production scheduling system and implementation arithmetic of it are discussed. And then the characteristics of process industry MES is analyzed. All of them provides for order-oriented scheduling system modeling and optimizing.2. According to the fact appearing in Qinshan paper mill-order-oriented optimalscheduling, models for three cases are given, And the problem is solved by genetic arithmetic because it can't be described with linear programming simply as well as genetic arithmetic has some features such as great search space, strong performance of adaptive character and robust character. Then genetic operation is discussed for solving the problem better. Simulation result shows the feasibility of this optimized scheme. After analyzing Qingshan paper mill's own feature, the slitting of paper rolls scheduling model for papermaking process is established. Based on it, optimized scheme is obtained by using the method of integral linear programming. Simulation result shows the feasibility of this optimized scheme.3 Development, modeling and technology of Software are introduced and different development methods are discussed. Modeling for production system is established by techniquecombining lifecycle measure and archetypal measure, including implementation of technique structure, design of man-machine interface and function frame. The design of production scheduling module is emphasized.
