Locomotive of Beijing and Dongfeng 7 are domestically developed product, model Beijing is for passenger transport and model Dongfeng 7 is for locomotive attempering and small scale operation, which play a very important role in our country's railway transportation and manufacturing, so high reliability is a critical factor to secure transportation/manufacturing in good order. Reparation and maintenance of the main shaft hole of the locomotive body is a complicated and critical technologies, where there is currently now professional device available to do it, also, there is lack of capacities to fully repair locomotive body main shaft hole in most of railway transport section nation wide. Aimed at this, in this thesis, a compounding boring machine was developed, which is specially used to machining locomotive body main shaft hole. Main content as follow:1.Process requirement on repair of the locomotive main body hole is analyzed and confirmed according to some difficulties the local firm have experienced when they do repair.2.Qualitative analysis has been made to the system definition, and specially, to the typical boring bar shank, usual analysis of mechanics and infinite element has been conducted, the inherentfrequency at various phases and hence the vibration model together with the distortion of the boring bar shank were gained; the floating support was introduced to reduce the distortion of the Tang shank, the expanding self-location & orientation harness was used to fix the item in the diametric direction. It is an enhancement on the structure and meets the definition requirement.3.The specially designed compounding boring machine and the additional fixing tool were also worked out based on the analysis listed above.4.This new designed device was put into application in a trial of machining the body of the two model mentioned above, analysis through a mass of the measurement data indicated that the maximum deviation of the concentricity for the 7 main shaft hole is greatly reduced to 0.040mm and 0.034 respectively. "This device is effective in repairing the deformed main shaft hole and have high utility value", the customer commented on it.
