In this thesis we studied the wearing properties of soybean blended yarns from Hebei TianLun textile Co., Ltd. They are soybean/cotton (50/50) blended yarn, soybean/cotton/wool (80/15/5) blended yarn and soybean/tencel (60/40) blended yarn, which were knitted to be jersey and interlock. Then the knitted fabrics were bleached and dyed. The dimensional stability of these knitted fabrics that were subjected to five wash and tumble-dry cycles laundering were studied. And the thermal-comfortable property was taken as the focal point of our research. As the new fiber that was opened up independently and produced commercially by Chinese specialists, the Soybean fiber, with silk like gloss, has good performance on wet permeability, vapor transmission, soft hand and warmth-retention. So it is very necessary for us to study the properties of the blended yarn or knitted fabric of soybean fiber further. After testing the tensile, hairiness and moisture absorption property, it is show that the Sirospun soybean blended yarns are hydrophilic and have good tenacity. After the first cycle wash and tumble-dry laundering, the no dyed fabrics shrunk obviously. But in the following four cycles, the change of dimension reduced but fluctuated, which meansthat the no dyed fabric dimension did not keep stability during the five times laundering. The count of the no dyed knitted fabric affects the dimension obviously. However, the effect of the kinds of yarns was indistinctive. And it is very important for the factory to understand the rules of course shrinkage, because the area shrinks following the shrinkage of course. After dyeing, the soybean blended fabrics shrunk enough, so that the fabric dimension kept stability after five cycles of wash and dry. Differently, the kinks of the yarn becomes an important factor of the fabric dimension stability, but the count of the dyed knitted fabric affects the dimension indistinctively. The properties of wet permeability, vapor and air transmission and warmth-retention were measured. The comprehensive style was researched by using the method of gray relation analysis. The conclusions are following:The soybean/cotton (50/50) knitted fabrics are good at wet permeability, air transmission and warmth-retention, those properties are similar to cotton fabrics and better than soybean fabrics; For the high blending ratio of soybean fiber, the soybean/cotton/wool blended knitted fabrics performed similarly to the soybean fabrics. Although the thermal-comfortable properties of soybean/tencel (60/40) knitted fabrics are not good as the others, better than other chemical fiber fabric.Tang Jiqian (Textile Engineering) Supervised by : Senior Engineer Wang Wenzu...
